GKD Conveyor Belt Filter.  GKD has the longest worldwide experience in developing and manufacturing woven conveyor and filter belts made of synthetics and stainless steels with precise mesh openings and surface features determined by the weave. This was accomplished in close cooperation with belt filter press manufacturers and plant operators.  GKD Conveyor Belts are not only used for transporting a product, but also simultaneously for washing, filtering, dewatering, freezing and drying process.  GKD Filter Belts for all belt filter presses and vacuum belt filters for a variety of applications in the Waste Water Treatment Plants, Coal Slurry Processing, Food Industry and Industry whenever liquid or solid separation is required, as in Chemicals, pulp and paper industry.  GKD Filter Belts are made of Synthetic Wire Cloths of any kind of weavable plastic material in various patterns, tested and proven worldwide.  The seams on the Belts are strong, resistant to wear and tear and easy to install.  The finish on the side edges stabilizes and prevents the cloth from unraveling and remains durable and flexible.

GKD PZ-Microdur Filter cloths were developed to provide fine filter cloths with improved mechanical stability for solid/liquid filtration tasks. Typical examples of equipment in which GKD PZ-Microdur cloths are used include vertical leaf filters (Niagara Filter), Horizontal Pressure Leaf Filters as well as centrifuges and back washable cartridge filter systems.

GKD KPZ-Microdur Filter cloths have proved to be excellent media in all applications where, because of backwashing, cleaning or filter cake removal processes great mechanical stability is required. GKD KPZ-Microdur Filter cloths were developed to meet the demands of applications which require an even greater optimization of the mechanical properties of the filter media. These weaves are basically GKD PZ-Microdur Filter cloth modified through twilled weaving pattern to achieve even greater stability. GKD KPZ-Microdur Filter cloths are primarily used for applications in pre-coat filtration with Horizontal Pressure Leaf Filters, centrifuges and continuous polymer filters.

GKD Multiplex meshes are produced by weaving of wire bundles in warp and weft. This results in a woven structure characterized by a large number of pores. GKD Multiplex meshes are typically used in drum filters and in special applications in pre-coat filtration.

GKD GEKUPLATE is used for applications requiring fine filtration under conditions of great mechanical stress. The process involves bonding several wire mesh layers, using a sintering process allows extremely stable structures to be achieved with the same surface filtration properties as a single, mechanically less stable wire mesh layer of the same filter grade. GKD GEKUPLATE elements, as self-supporting and back-flushable cartridges, are used in solid/ liquid filtration, or gas filtration. Other applications are special designed media used in centrifuges or nutsch- type filters. The fact, that different mesh layers can be combined in a very flexible way, laminates can be designed and optimized for specific applications. Based on this, special product lines for fluidizing of bulked goods and for air quench applications in the fibber industry had been developed.

GKD TELA wire cloths are a further development in filter media characterized by a 5-heddle-atlas pattern. This special weaving style makes it possible to produce wire cloths with open meshes, providing high flow rates combined with great mechanical stability. At the same time, it also creates an especially smooth surface which eases the removal of filter cake while also ensuring trouble-free cleaning of the filter media. GKD TELA cloths have proved themselves especially in drum filter equipment and disc filters where the build up of the filter cake, removal and cleaning are performed in continuous cycles. These meshes are also used in waste water treatment, process water filtration and in mining.

GKD YMAX^® is a new product line of GKD. These products can vary in their construction depending on the customer’s requirements. All GKD YMAX^® filter media are constructed according to the same principle, which is a Composite Structure. This provides efficient filtration performance; in the range of 3 µm up to 100 µm. So this unique precisely woven filter media can reach dirt holding capacities similar to a high performance fibre-felt, while its pore structure is absolutely homogeneous. This precision allows the filtration process to be scientifically calculable and manageable. Optimised flow-rate properties, combined with low cut-points and high structural stability, defines a filter media that is unique for fine particle removal while operating at high process pressures (8-10 bar). An additional characteristic of GKD YMAX^®, with its robust fibre-wire-composite structure, is that it can be formed and tailored for application in many filter systems. Besides cylindrical and conical designs or plate type filters, pleating is also possible. For further stabilisation via sintering further enhances performance. Available in widths up to 3.5 meters and lengths up to 20 meters GKD YMAX^® has the unique ability to be used in back-flushing filtration processes. Such mechanical strength has been previously unheard of in filter media with such low cut-point and high dirt holding characteristics. GKD's YMAX^® is highly versatile finding wide application in many industrial filtration applications; mineral oil, vegetable oil, fine chemical, solvent and aqueous processes are all possible.
